The feminist view in LARP
Larping has been used from its beginnings not just a tool for leisure, but also for social change. The Feminist perspective that has been gaining weight in the last few years is part of that trend.
From specific Facebook groups to initiatives of great social impact such as #Feminism: a nano-game anthology, the topic has been reaching society. Now’s the time to reflect upon what’s been accomplished and what’s yet to be done, focusing in the Spanish scene.
At the same time, this talk intends to be the opening of a session where other interested parties can offer their view on the topic. Additionally, some of the nano-games of the #Feminism anthology will be run and a creative space in where to share views on the topic will be opened.

Organiser: MIrella Machancoses
Type: Talk and opening of a session (other people will be invited to propose their related talks/workshops/roundtables).
Duration: 45 minutes + duration of the other proposed talks.

Literature at Larp's service
To pull ideas out of literature works is a common practice in larp. But, are we really making the most out of literature? This lecture proposes a step forward by its extensive use at larp's service. Either by setting literary themes as central, specific works as focus or its use for public administration projects (Edularps, death/birth anniversaries, etc)
Organiser: José Castillo Meseguer
Type: Lecture
Duration: 45 minutes

The lie of immersion
Immersion and identification with the character are the two key goals habitually pursued by artistic/Nordic larp players, but is immersion really a goal on itself or just a mere technique?
Additionally, are there other approaches not focused on immersion that have artistic value and can provide an equally satisfying experience?
In the talk, these and other matters will be analysed with practical examples with the purpose of stimulating the exploration of complementary models to those already in use within Europe.

“I am here to talk about my larp" – larp media campaign.
We all love to advertise our larps, flooding up social networks and emails with information, until it is fully booked. We will suggest some techniques and tools not to spam, to avoid rejection and to get the attention of possible players without revealing too many details of our larp.
We will also deal with the information players require. How to improve communication with those who will take part in our larp without repeating ourselves, to benefit their experience to the maximum without being a drag.
Finally we will share our experience as organizers to show which tools work better for each kind of larp.

The inherited quarrel between players syndrome.
In this activity we intend to offer effective methods to avoid rivalries and feuds between players. We’ll discuss the profile of that player that receiving harmful effects for his/her character isn’t capable of distinguishing that’s a game, of understanding the difference between player/character, and is incapable of distancing from what’s happened (bleed out).

These situations might cause that the player searches for and forces ways of seek retribution that might affect future events, increasing the tension in the gaming group and provoking quarrels.

The last journey - Larp
You’ve signed the stack of papers that the company, ‘The Last Sigh’ requested. That damned letter for your family (although they’ll possibly laugh when they read it), the testament with all your last wills and the authorisation for that experiment they haven’t even deigned to reveal. You don’t care about any of it. The Aokigahara forest awaits you and with it, rest. You don’t really know why the company insists so much that ‘what matters is the journey.’ You only care about trying to finish this, and doing it there seems like the best way.
Experimental larp with characters created in a previous workshop led by the organisers.

Organisers: Pili Escribá Ruiz and Ramón Calvo Sampedro
Type: Larp
Duration: 3 hours
Participants: From 12 to 17 players

We can’t be anything without playing it
We all agree that there’s a common element in everyone attending EntreReVs: larps. Aha! And is that all? What are we? A group of crazies gathering to do something together? Or could you argue that we’re a subculture? If so, why? What defines all larpers? What differentiates us? In this talk we’ll present theories from some authors that discuss the notion of subculture and we’ll apply them to our area: larping.
We don’t want to bore the participants with complex theories or strange concepts. With this conference, we intend that the audience participates and contributes with ideas about what makes us be what we are and do what we do.

First they came... - Larp
First they came for the blue and you didn’t speak up because you weren’t blue. Then they came for the green and the yellow and you didn’t speak up because you were neither one nor the other. Later they came for the red and you didn’t speak up because you weren’t red. Now, they’ve come for you and there’s nobody else to speak for you.

Player expectations and character building
We all realise how delicate is this process from the moment in which participants register, they get a character assigned, we develop it, they read the first lines, etc. They might fall in love with the character, that they suffer it, that makes them indifferent, until we finally arrive to the larp and we put it with the rest of the players and their alter-egos.
The devil is in the details, and attention to this process it’s crucial from the first moment so that everything ends as good as possible. I’ll provide my personal experience, but I’d like for us to reflect together, contribute and collaborate with a survey so we all can learn about this process.
Organiser: Jesús Pérez

Historical LARP: Challenges and difficulties
Designing a historical larp might seem a simple task thanks to the amount of information available today about any topic. Despite that, as we begin outlining our scenario we face important decisions that will end up defining in a significant way the experience it’ll offer for the participants.
During the talk, we’ll analyse through national and international larp examples some of the fundamental approaches that, used in the design of our larp, will give shape to the story we want to tell and will set it in History. Should we include recognizable historical characters? To which point are we willing to sacrifice faithfulness to History in favour of playability, script or making our scenario more inclusive? Can we avoid hurting sensitivities when dealing with recent historical episodes?

Designing and executing an experience as a team without dying or killing anybody in the attempt
In this workshop we’ll explore different work techniques so we can develop a larp with a cross-functional, multicultural and distributed team. Designing a larp isn’t that different from a scriptwriting process and its execution is very similar to the filming of a movie.
We’ll explore this process from the initial pitch to the character entry/exit workshops.

Roleplaying games in Arts education: Their use in Art museums
We all are aware of the benefits of roleplaying games. Why no then use them for the education of Secondary students? Why not doing like in other European countries and taking them to museums?
In Spain it’s usual seeing a group made up for students that instead of appreciating the works of art in front of them, they prefer to talk about their things or check their mobile phones.
Through the analysis of the use of roleplaying games in European countries, or through Spanish teachers in other subjects I propose an educational method to use them in art museums and benefit the students on only in matter of their Arts education but in a global way both educational and personal.

Our most terrible shadows - Larp
It begun the Summer of 1816, during a dark night in which the storm was brewing over Villa Diodati, an imposing manor on the shores of Lake Lehman, in Switzerland. Lord Byron gathered his friends in the living room and proposed a challenge, writing the most terrifying story that could come out of their pens. Percy and Mary Shelley, Polidori, Claire Clairmont and Lord Byron retreated to their rooms to pour over the page their worst nightmares. Now, six years later, the poets gather again to reminisce about that tenebrous moment, writing like then, a new horror tale. It’s been six years of secrets between them, of deaths and curses and humiliations, of marcing towards madness.

"Our most terrible shadows" is a larp inspired by the literary sessions in which Mary Shelley, Percy Shelley, Lord Byron, John Polidori and Claire Clairmont that sparked both Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein as well as Polidori’s Vampire. It’s based on the real dramatic events that they endured during the following years in which a curse seemingly befell them. This is a story of drama, death and supernatural horror. But it’s above all a story about poetry.

Organisers: Ana López & Daniel P. Espinosa
Type: Larp
Duration: 3 hours
Participants: 6 players (3 male and 3 female spots)
It requires Victorian or Regency era costuming (No historical rigour required).

Get the stick out of your ass!
From the creators of ´All of Mariano’s zombies’! From those responsible of ‘The Hunt for the Pink February’! From the evil minds that plotted ‘The Swedes Are Coming!’ This time they come to explain how, why and above everything else, through where.
Are you tired from roaming dark clubs dressed as a coffin maker asking to the Narrators whether the Prince has come? Have you figured already that every Cthulhoid larp is about performing a ritual in a haste during the last five minutes? Have you already found your inner self through an introspective journey during a Nordic psychodramatic immersive larp?
Very well: Now’s the time for the clowns.
Max&Cousin, experts in writing comedic larps and persecuted by a crime they didn't commit will give us the keys for comedic larping, why it’s existence is questioned and marginal, as well as how to make the most of your comedic characters, situations and plots. It includes unlicensed jokes. It doesn’t require your own stick.
(The organisers reserve their right to make jokes that aren’t funny at all during the talk. No laughs guaranteed).
Organisers: Max&Cousin are Daniel San José, Marcos Pastor and Arnold the rubber chicken.

Combining Fantasy and Nordic Style
If we ask what’s Nordic-style larping about, most will say that’s about psychological and social themes. And crying. Other than some exceptions, the majoritary perception is that most Nordic-style larps don’t delve in that which created larping as such: fantasy. Which is to say our deepest geek essence. As we know, most traditional larps, focus, in general terms in fantasy themes: science fiction, fantasy, horror, etc. These themes or genres define us roleplayers in our hobby. They’re themes to dream and have fun. On its side, Nordic-style larping seeks emotional intensity, experimental techniques and going beyond. Very powerful tools.
Thus, why not working on combining both?
This talk will explore the need (and reality) of the union of fantasy + Nordicity. In other words, of the evolution of traditional roleplaying. This is a path in which there’s progress being made which is something we’ll discuss. We’ll also talk about the use of artistic techniques in these combinations and we’ll use as an example larps that have already experimented with it all. Because Nordic-style larping can also be used to dream and have fun. Because we want a Geek larp 2.0.
Organiser: Daniel P. Espinosa.
Type: Talk.
Duration: 1 hour.

We’ll propose you how to develop a workshop that facilitates players expression/use of physical violence through their characters. The ide is having a tool of about thirty minutes that can be employed before larps that foresee the need of expressing/using violence and accomplishing that, on one side, players are capable of creating scenes that otherwise they’d haven’t dared to while at the same time keeping the participants safe.
It’s our goal during the workshop, to share with you the doubts we’ve had in its creation as well as gather your experiences to expand and improve it. Our ambition is, finally, creating a workshop that belongs to us all, to be used and modified as we want in the preparation of our roleplaying events.
Organiser: Álvaro Maestro.
Type: Workshop (includes roundtable).
Duration: 1 hour and a half.
Let’s make a physical violence workshop

To dare, To defy, To challenge
Even if larp at its beginnings developed as a way of fantasy escapism, its growth has allowed for different approaches to flourish. There are larps created to heal, mend or educate and there are larps created to stir uneasiness and defy expectations through transgression and challenge. The worst a larp can do is to be a lukewarm entertainment. Art hurts or wonders.
This talk will explore larp as a tool to question the participants and societal values, and the ways this can be used for design, including practical advice and warnings. It is the design method for the larp Christos, created as an example of a challenging approach.

CHRISTOS - LARP
A larp about identity, faith and shadows

I cannot let the light fade out, for I know I am a sinner.
The priest died last night. He was taken by demons, but prepared the chapel for us to take shelter from the world. He warned us of the Devil.
I am poor, I am weak, yet I am faithful. Here inside I am at the mercy of God, for outside there is only darkness. This is Walpurgis Night, the Devil’s feast. The world is his playground tonight, but it will pass away.
The light still burns, I know my Saviour will come.
The Lamb of God. His only Son.
Christos. Not the demons. Christos. Not the world. Christos. Not my faults.
Organizer: Juan Ignacio Ros
Type: LARP
Duration: 3+ hours (including workshops)
Participants: 6 (half male, half female being best)

Black clothes: shirt and trousers for men, long dress or blouse and long skirt for women.
All written materials in English – the larp itself can be in Spanish or English.
